What Is ‘Fiat’
And Why?
Hello there, my name is Michaela Cioffi and welcome to my blog Fiat Venture. Just to say a little bit who I am, I’m a young Catholic woman from Malta who is in search for the ultimate goal of satisfaction in life.
As soon as you visit this blog you automatically think that this blog is about cars. Unfortunately, it is not (though I have a deep fascination for Italian cars)! The next question that probably you would be asking is
“So if this blog is not about cars, then why Fiat?”
Before I answer the why, I have to answer “What is Fiat?”
Fiat is the Latin word for
“Let It Be Done”
It is an element of surrender and acceptance of God’s will no matter the consequences. It is what Mary said to the archangel Gabriel when he announced to her that she will bare the son of God, and therefore being the Mother of God. She was worried (I mean, bearing a child not from her spouse Joseph is a big deal back then) and even the thought that she is stepping into the unknown; but she said yes with all the terms and conditions that the responsibility of being the Mother of God carried.
Why Fiat?
I am in a stage where I am stepping into the unknown, not really sure where God wants me to be. I must admit that it is a risky venture, as it feels like walking in the desert without knowing where it would lead.
However, I am willing to take this venture wholeheartedly by like Mary say “Fiat! Let it be done according to your will Lord!”
